Téreltérítés Munkacsoport: Téreltérítés Munkacsoport (Deviant Space Working Group) was formed by Antal Lakner visual artist and the architecture and art students he taught at his 'Deviant Space' course held at the Technical University and the László Moholy-Nagy University. Although the group includes future architects, they felt it was important to approach space from other aspects, not only and exclusively an architectural point of view, therefore they explore the relationship of man and space through art in public space. The starting point of the work they are making for PLACCC Festival is the belief that we are not mere observers of (public) space, but can actively shape it and participate in its transformation. The group's earlier works have focused on the notion of deviant space and the subversive use of media that is so central to their approach: together they have created a provocative fake construction site near the M4 metro line construction and pretended that this was to be the Mátyás Vent („Mátyás Szellőző"). Reactions from the local community were so strong that the site had to be taken down before planned. Smaller projects of the Deviant Space Group include the transformation of the infamous Moszkva Square clock into a sundial and the creation of a 'mobile zebra' you can take with you and use anywhere.
Installation in public space from 7 till 11 October. You can visit all day. Location: 8th district, Blaha Lujza Square at the fountains |
