Usedesign Project

Usedesign Project is the joint venture of four designer groups that includes four independent artistic projects which are linked by a common concept and starting point.

The young artists experiment with re-designing the necessary, nevertheless often anti-aesthetic accessories of our city life to which we are prone to become oblivious. What does this mean?

Part of the 8th district will be transformed into a 'living gallery' by Újirány group who will label reality for us and introduce us to the anecdotes of the local community. The 1000% group will transform and renovate old and forlorn basement doors and will use street art to treat us to a series of visual surprises while walking in the city. Part of the Usedesign projects will be created in public workshops where the artists invite us to get involved and participate in the creative process.

If you are up to it, you can re-design a concrete mixer truck with the designers of Szövetség'39 or build a 'community couch' (priccs) in public space with Virtualmogyoro Studio.

Usedesign Project aims to explore the possibilities of design and show that small changes can have a great impact on our everyday life and on how we feel about the city as our home.

Basement Rehab
The artists of 1000% renovate old and forlorn basement doors, turning these ‚doorways to nowhere‘ into a series of visual surprises we may come across on different points of the city.

Itinerary: Rökk Szilárd utca, Bródy Sándor utca, Somogyi Béla utca, Szentkirályi utca (8th district) - Keep your eyes open!
You can visit all day. Free event.

Újirány Group:
Living Gallery
The Újirány Group labels reality and introduces us to the local anecdotes and stories of the Palotanegyed (Palace District), transforming a walk on the streets into a visit to a living gallery.

Location: Mikszáth Kálmán tér, Krúdy Gyula utca, Lőrinc pap tér (8th district) - Keep your eyes open!

Virtualmogyoro Studio:
Priccs
Virtual Mogyoro Studio proposes a playful take on recycling: come and join their open workshop and build ‚community couches‘ (priccs) for public space from plastic cans.
